“We are very proud to have played and to have won the VCF Academy World Cup”
Interview with Jorrick Lammers, coordinator of the VCF Camps Holland & Belgium
Sergio Ventosa has spent 19 seasons at Valencia Club de Fútbol, and has seen the progress of the VCF Academy in these nearly two decades. Ahead of another campaign for the youth setup, he talked to VCF Media about the approach used to bring through promising talents.
“The VCF Academy has evolved a lot over the years. Currently, it is one of the most important academies, both nationally and internationally,” he explains.

"We work on an integral process for the players, in which importance lies both in the sporting and social aspects," says Ventosa. The club have created a Higher Diploma in Personal Branding and Soft Skills for Professional Athletes, run in collaboration with the Mas Camarena School and the Valencia Polytechnic University.
Last season, the club created the VCF DNA and 'Sentiment, Bravery and Brotherhood' mottos, which reflect a working philosophy that focuses on values such as humility, loyalty, trust, effort, resilience and passion. There are also other concepts that are worked on for practical application in each position on the field of play.
"We try to help players in all aspects, so that when they become professional footballers they perform at the sporting level that Valencia Club de Fútbol deserve," concludes Ventosa.
